Right outside the park
The Boise River Greenbelt runs alongside the park: more than 25 miles of paved path for walking, biking and spotting wildlife along the river. Rent a bike at our office and ride as far as you like.

Next door at Expo Idaho
Catch a Boise Hawks baseball game at the stadium next door, or check the Western Idaho Fairgrounds and Expo Center calendar for the Western Idaho Fair, concerts, shows and events. Ada County’s new park at Expo Idaho adds restored river wetlands, a skate and all-wheel park, a nature playground with a zipline, and a food truck plaza.

Around Boise

• Float the river: in summer, tube or raft the Boise River from Barber Park, a local favorite on hot days.

• Hike the foothills: the Ridge to Rivers trail system offers hundreds of miles of trails, and Table Rock offers views over the whole valley.

• History and culture: tour the Old Idaho Penitentiary, visit the Idaho State Capitol, or explore the Basque Block, home to one of the largest Basque communities outside Spain.

• Family favorites: Zoo Boise, the Idaho Botanical Garden, and the World Center for Birds of Prey.

• Winter fun: Bogus Basin ski area is in the mountains just above town.
